The Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call regarding a motorcycle crash on River Lane Road near Park Road Sunday around 3:30pm. The caller reported two injuries from the crash. The investigating deputy learned that 59 year old Dennis Wolter of Janesville was riding his with his wife, 54 year old Brenda Wolter as a passenger. They were in a group, riding south on River Lane Road, approaching Park Road. A witness who was riding a motorcycle behind Wolter, DuWayne Pepper, reported that a deer came out of the ditch on the right side of the road in front of Dennis Wolter. Pepper said that he believed that Dennis Wolter may have clipped the deer. This caused Wolter to lose control of the bike, eventually laying it down on the left side. The bike slid and then flipped to the right side. Both Dennis and Brenda Wolter remained on the bike. They were both taken to a hospital in Dubuque for injuries. Dennis Wolter‘s injuries appeared to be more severe than Brenda Wolter. Neither were wearing helmets. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Potosi EMS and the Potosi Fire Department
