Two people were arrested early Sunday morning after a traffic stop in rural Viroqua. According to the Vernon County sheriff’s office a Vernon County Deputy Sheriff stopped to check on a vehicle stopped along Hwy. 27 in the town of Franklin around 5:30am. The driver of the vehicle, 42-year-old Edward Boydston of Caledonia, Minn., had a revoked driver’s license and an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Minnesota. The passenger, 24-year-old Mariah Williamson of La Crosse, also had an outstanding warrant in Wisconsin. A release said that the Vernon County Sheriff’s K9 helped locate methamphetamine paraphernalia. Other peoples’ debit cards, as well as another person’s identification, were also found in the vehicle. Both Boydston and Williamson are now in the Vernon County Detention Center. Formal charges will be sought through the Vernon County DA’s office.
