Overnight storms Saturday into Sunday delivered heavy rain and caused sporadic damage in the tri-state area. According to the National Weather Service, Dubuque officially received 1.51 inches of rain at the Dubuque Regional Airport. The weather service also received reports of tree damage in Dyersville and Dubuque, as well as in Galena. The rain helped snap a prolonged dry spell in Dubuque and the surrounding area. With the overnight weekend rain, Dubuque’s precipitation total rose to 13.28 for the year, still 4.42 inches below normal.
