Forecasters have issued an excessive heat warning for the entire Tri-state area. According to the National Weather Service, the warning is effective from 11 a.m. Tuesday, to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The warning area includes Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque and Jackson counties in Iowa, Jo Daviess County in Illinois and Crawford, Grant, Iowa and Lafayette counties in Wisconsin. The forecast calls for a high temperature of 99 degrees Wednesday and 98 degrees Thursday in Dubuque. The extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses, particularly for people working outside or participating in outdoor activities.
