A brief tornado touchdown was reported in far northern Green County Monday evening. According to the National Weather Service the tornado was reported around 6:08 p.m. east of New Glarus and south-southwest of Belleville. Video and photos shared on social media appeared to capture the weak twister. No damage has been reported, and no severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings were in effect at the time of the touchdown. The weather pattern over southern Wisconsin can produce cold air funnels and weak tornadoes, but unless the storm shows significant signs of rotation, the chance for damage is low.
