Man Who Showed Up At Capitol With Gun Identified

The man who was arrested after bringing a handgun and assault rifle to the Wisconsin State Capitol in search of the governor has been identified as Joshua Pleasnick. Court records show that Pleasnick, a father who went through a divorce three years ago, does not have a criminal record and has never been arrested before this incident. Former neighbors who briefly interacted with him described him as a quiet individual who they didn’t engage with much.  It’s unclear if his demand to speak to Governor Evers was politically motivated or if he was upset with the Governor.  The alert issued from the Capitol Police mentions that Pleasnick wanted to talk to the governor about ‘abuse towards men,” leaving many questions unanswered about the nature of his intentions.
