An advisory task force has recommended that Dubuque invest $13.2 million to expand the Carnegie Stout Public Library. The proposed project, titled B-1, would add a major third-floor addition to the existing Carnegie-Stout Public Library and extend the northeast section of the building to provide more collection and staff space. The proposal was presented to the library’s Board of Trustees on Thursday by FEH Design representatives as part of an ongoing effort to prepare for the library’s future space needs. While trustees discussed the proposal, no formal action was taken by the board.
