Wisconsin 3rd District Congressman Derrick Van Orden of Prairie du Chien says he’s witnessed almost indescribable horror during his trip to Israel. Van Orden said Israeli officials showed him graphic videos of what Hamas has done to Israeli civilians since the attack on October 7th. He said his visit was important because, “People are denying that Israelis are being slaughtered. He added that no one can compare what’s happened to Israeli civilians to civilian deaths in Gaza. Van Orden said because these people intentionally targeted civilians, every civilian casualty that’s taken in the Gaza Strip, every piece of property or infrastructure destroyed is the direct result of Hamas attacking Israel on October 7th. Van Orden said the House is developing an appropriations bill to help fund Israel’s defense. He’s also forming a House caucus to stay in contact with their counterparts in Israel’s government.
