Last Friday, November 3rd, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 80 and Saint Rose Road in Smelser Township around 8:20am. 85 year old George Gray of Platteville was traveling north on Highway 80 in his vehicle. Gray was the third of three vehicles. All three vehicles were following a large farm tractor driven by 33 year old Ronald Trollip of Darlington. The first two vehicles passed the tractor and then Gray went to pass the tractor in a no passing zone at an intersection. Trollip happened to be turning left onto Saint Rose Road. Gray’s vehicle struck the front tire of the tractor with the front passenger side of his vehicle. There was no damage done to the tractor but Gray’s vehicle had damage to the front passenger side and had to be removed by Donnies Tire and Tow of Dickeyville. There were no injuries reported in the crash. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Cuba City Police Department. The crash remains under investigation
