One Vehicle Accident Near Galena Friday

A one vehicle accident near Galena Friday sent two women to the hospital. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff Department says it happened around 8:45 in the morning on West Stagecoach Trail, near Heller Lane. Authorities say a vehicle driven by 41-year old Lidia Sanchez skidded out of control on the slick roadway going up the hill. The vehicle then went into a ditch, struck an embankment, and a small tree before rolling onto its top. Both Sanchez and passenger 37-year old Anabel Trujillo were taken by Galena Ambulance to Midwest Medical Center in Galena for treatment of minor injuries.
