The Iowa Court of Appeals has ordered that a Dubuque County man be resentenced on his conviction of sexually abusing a child. 30-year-old Jake Skahill of Farley, was sentenced last year to 35 years in prison after being found guilty of second-degree sexual abuse, lascivious acts with a minor and enticing a minor. Skahill appealed having his sentences on the charges run consecutively instead of concurrently after his second trial, resulting in a 35-year sentence. In his first trial, he was sentenced to concurrent time totaling 25 years. The convictions were upheld and Skahill’s charges will run consecutively.
