A well-known Dubuque business is putting the finishing touches on an expansion that aims to give patrons more room to socialize. The Dog House Lounge in Dubuque has expanded into space formerly utilized by neighboring business Donut Boy, which closed in July. Dog House owner Dusty Rogers said the renovation project has seen the bar expand into two rooms at the back of the former Donut Boy which once housed the business’ baking equipment and stored other items. Rogers said the two new spaces add about 900 square feet to the Dog House. The project also included renovation of the women’s bathroom and the construction of a new men’s bathroom, as the former men’s bathroom will be demolished to make room for an expanded kitchen. He noted that the project, which also included new tables, chairs and other furnishings, should be complete by April 1.
