Crews were set to begin demolishing a portion of the Dubuque Brewing and Malting Co. building this week, but that work has been delayed. Alliant Energy was prevented from removing overhead power lines until an electrical contractor completed the relocation of internal electric service that serves Prairie Farms, according to City Council documents. With that work completed, Alliant has scheduled the removal of the power lines for the week of March 25. No demolition can begin until the power lines are removed. Once begun, demolition is scheduled to last about three weeks. Cleanup of the site could take another week. The area set to be demolished includes sections of the building south of its archway entrance on Jackson Street.
