A man from Platteville was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday in Green County. Green County Deputies, Brodhead Police, Rock County Deputies, Brodhead First Response, and Brodhead EMS, responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 81 around 3:40pm Saturday. An investigation revealed that 21 year old Robert Zimmerman of Platteville was traveling east on Highway 81, when a vehicle operated by 37 year old Helgar Moreno Palma of Fond du Lac, failed to yield the right of way. The front of Zimmerman’s vehicle collided with the rear of Moreno Palma’s vehicle. Zimmerman reported wearing his seatbelt and was transported for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision. Moreno Palma and his passengers reported wearing their seatbelts and were not injured. Zimmerman’s vehicle had disabling damage; multiple airbags deployed. Zimmerman’s vehicle was removed from the scene by Arn’s Towing of Brodhead. Moreno Palma’s vehicle had disabling damage; there was no airbag deployment. Moreno Palma’s vehicle was removed from the scene by Don’s Towing. Moreno Palma was cited for failure-to-yield the right of way, operating without a valid license, operating with suspended registration, and no insurance. Moreno Palma was released pending court.
