Voters in the Southwestern School District have approved a non-recurring operating referendum with 560 supporting the measure while 430 voted against. The Southwestern School District can now exceed the revenue $750,000 per year for (4) four years.
The contested Area 3 seat on the school board was won by George Splinter who defeated his mother-in-law, Sue Bennett.
