There are some things the Wisconsin DNR wants you to know before you cast a line this weekend. Saturday begins inland fishing season. The Wisconsin DNR wants anglers to know about properly disposing of fishing line. They say do not put any line in regular recycling bins as it can cause issues at recycling facilities. Instead put line in a bag or container in the trash, or take it to a special fishing line drop-off, sometimes found at sporting goods stores. The Wisconsin DNR also warns about using lead weights. They say many fish, loons, eagles, and other wildlife can easily accidentally swallow tackle, which can be fatal.
