UW-Platteville is lending a helping hand to the city of Platteville which had to close down their community pool indefinitely. Each year, staff at Platteville Family Aquatic Center prepare their pool for the season, but this year the vessel has had significant water loss and in the interest of safety, the pool is closed down indefinitely. Fortunately, UW-Platteville has offered to share their pool with the community beginning June 17. Athletic director Michael Knipe says he will work in conjunction with the city to make sure lap swimming and swim lessons are accessible. The swim team will also be able to compete at UW-Platteville’s pool.
