A Dubuque man has been sentenced to two to five years probation after he assaulted a woman and set her on fire. 30 year old Christian Kwallek received the sentence in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to charges of reckless use of fire, willful injury causing bodily injury and domestic assault. If he violates the terms of his probation, he faces up to seven years in prison. As part of his sentence, Kwallek must reside at a residential treatment facility for “a period of one year or until maximum benefits have been achieved. The charges stem from a February 23 incident in which 31 year old Jalysa Turner of Cuba City was assaulted by Kwallek.
