Local officials are asking Dubuque residents to stay away from a bear that has been spotted moving through the city. The bear has been traveling south through Dubuque and is expected to leave the city by this morning “if left alone. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Dubuque County Conservation and Dubuque Police Department have been tracking the animal. Officials said it is “critical” that residents give the bear space, leave it alone and not attempt to photograph it. Do not go near the bear or gather around or approach it in any way. Interaction with the bear can be dangerous for people and the bear.
