Forecasters warn that high temperatures and increasing humidity levels the next couple of days could increase the risk of heat-related illnesses. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory effective from 10 a.m. today through 8 p.m. Tuesday for an area that includes Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson and Jones counties in Iowa and Jo Daviess County in Illinois. The combination of heat and humidity could produce peak afternoon heat indices of 95 to 100 degrees, while overnight temperatures in the 70s will provide little relief for people without air conditioning.
