Officials say a black bear that gained online fame for its time in Dubuque has left the city. Dubuque County Conservation Director Brian Preston confirmed Tuesday that the black bear seen across town last week had left Dubuque. The animal last was spotted Monday near Peosta and now appears to be continuing its journey south. The bear first was seen in Dubuque late last week and spent multiple days around the city. Wildlife experts say the animal had first entered Iowa on May 30th when it swam across the Mississippi River from Wisconsin.
