The Great Galena Balloon Race Is This Weekend

Hot air balloons will be hovering around Jo Daviess County this weekend. The Great Galena Balloon Race will take place beginning Friday and continue through Sunday at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in the Galena Territory. Balloon races are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting. The event also includes balloon rides, live music and a classic car show at 6 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5. The event raises funds for Camp Hertko Hollow, a camp for kids with diabetes, and Juvenile Diabetes Research.
