Country star Lauren Alaina just shared the tragic news that her father, J.J. Suddeth, has died unexpectedly. In an Instagram post on Wednesday (July 24), the 29-year-old singer announced the sad passing of her father. “We lost my daddy last night,” she wrote. “And I really don’t have the words yet.” Alaina is currently on tour supporting Jason Aldean, and she shared that her upcoming shows are canceled as a result.
“I want to let y’all know that I’m not able to play the three shows I had scheduled for this weekend in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte as I am going home to be with my family. Thank you for your prayers and understanding. Pinky.” Alaina signed off with the nickname her dad gave her, Pinky, as a tribute to her late father. Fellow country stars voiced their condolences in the comments, with Brantley Gilbert writing, “Prayers to you and the family! Here for anything y’all need,” while Trisha Yearwood replied, “I love you. So very sorry.
