‘Twilight’ Animated Series ‘Midnight Sun’ Lands At Netflix

Netflix has ordered an animated adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight novel Midnight Sun. The series, originally reported to be in development last year, will be a retelling of the first Twilight book from the perspective of Edward Cullen. There were originally four novels in the popular Twilight series, which were adapted into a five-movie film franchise between 2008 and 2012. Meyers also released the book Life & Death: Twilight Reimagined in 2015, which gender-swapped the two main characters. Midnight Sun was published in 2020. Sinead Daly — whose past credits include Tell Me Lies, Raised By Wolves, and The Get Down — will produce the series. (Variety)
