NBC is reducing The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to four nights a week, joining the other late-night programs on CBS and ABC in adjusting to changing viewing habits and production costs. NBC has also made other cost-saving moves, such as eliminating the house band from Late Night with Seth Meyers. ABC also allows Jimmy Kimmel extended vacation time, and CBS decided to replace The Late Late Show With James Corden with the much-cheaper comedy panel show After Midnight. Amid these adjustments, Fallon has continued to produce Friday shows, and expanded his creative projects to include game shows, music albums and children’s books. (Variety)
