The New York Mets have dedicated a seat at Citi Field to Grimace, the beloved McDonald’s mascot, following a winning streak that started with Grimace throwing the first pitch at a game. The Mets organization acknowledged Grimace’s popularity among fans and installed a commemorative seat painted purple as a tribute to his “special connection to Mets fans.” The seat, located in row 12 of section 302, is available for purchase for the Mets’ remaining home games and marks the date Grimace’s run of luck for the team began. Mets executive vice president says it’s been a “fun year” for the team: “We’ve been playing great ball. Ever since the end of May, we have been crushing it.” (People)
