Paramount is developing a live-action/CG hybrid film based on the beloved ’90s Nickelodeon animated series Rugrats, bringing back characters such as Tommy Pickles and Chuckie Finster with CGI, but set in the real world — similar to Sonic The Hedgehog. It’s unclear which characters from the original series will appear, but the script has been written by Saturday Night Live actor Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidell, with Karen Rosenfelt as producer and Jason Moore (Shotgun Wedding) as director. This return to the big screen follows the show’s prolific original run on Nickelodeon, which has inspired several theatrical films and spin-offs. (Variety)
