A Dubuque woman has been sentenced to two years of probation for assaulting a man with a baseball bat. 36-year-old Tamara Weeks recently received the sentence in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to one count of willful injury causing bodily injury. If she violates the terms of her probation, Weeks faces up to five years in prison. The charge stems from a July 18 incident in which court documents state officers met with Ryan Devore outside the state correctional facility for a report of an assault. Court documents state Devore was bleeding from a laceration to the left side of his head and was transported to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital for treatment.
