John Deere has announced more layoffs in the Quad Cities area that will take effect in January. About 200 John Deere employees will lose their jobs at Harvester Works in East Moline, IL. Another 80 workers will be let go in Davenport. Seven other workers will be let go in Moline, IL. The new layoffs will take effect on January 3, 2025. John Deere says that the newly-announced layoffs are due to a reduced demand for products, and not due to production moves.
