Platteville man dead following crash in Mineral Point

On Friday just before 5 PM, the Iowa County 911 center received multiple calls of a single vehicle crash on Highway 151 near mile marker 39 in Mineral Point township. A southbound vehicle veered off the road and struck a rock wall, causing the driver identified as 32-year-old Anthony Wendt of Platteville to be ejected from the vehicle. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful. Wendt was pronounced dead at the scene by Iowa county coroners office. This is Iowa county’s 2nd fatal crash in 2025.
