Judge Wendy Chang denied Warner Bros.’ motion to dismiss the lawsuit, finding merit in the estate’s claims. Crichton’s widow, Sherri, hailed the decision as significant for creative rights, while Warner Bros. argues that The Pitt is a distinct series — even though it created by ER alums R. Scott Gemmill and John Wells and stars Noah Wyle. Wells maintains that the show aims to offer a unique portrayal of medical challenges post-COVID.
