UnityPoint Health announced this morning it is purchasing Grand River Medical Group. Grand River Medical Group physicians, advanced practice providers and team members will become part of UnityPoint Clinic, which is UnityPoint Health’s multi-specialty medical group, according to a joint statement from the two organizations. The transition of staff will take about four to six months, according to the press release, and all current GRMG patients will remain with their same healthcare providers. Patients will gain access to the UnityPoint Clinic’s MyUnityPoint patient portal, the expertise available from a larger health system and continued close affiliation with Finley Hospital and the UnityPoint Health Dubuque Visiting Nurse Association, the press release states. News of GRMG’s impending sale was first announced in early February after the group signed a letter of intent for the sale with a then-unnamed “major health care entity.”
