Last Monday, a Crawford County Sheriff conducted a traffic stop on an SUV, and the operator, 45-year-old Jeremy Koppen of Fennimore, exhibited signs of impairment. Prairie du Chien Police Department K9 Shiesty was utilized and alerted to the presence of one or more controlled substances in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle ensued, and methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and a handgun were discovered. Koppen was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance 2nd Offense, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia, felon in possession of a firearm, and a probation violation. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Prairie du Chien Police Department.
