U.S. 20 road construction set to begin in Galena

Illinois officials announced that construction is scheduled to begin next week on a portion of U.S. 20 in Galena. The project on Highway 20 between Gear Street and Industrial Drive is scheduled to begin Monday, April 14, weather permitting. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the work consists of pavement patching and inlet repairs and will require daytime lane closures. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. The project is expected to be completed in mid-June.
