On Sunday at 12:02 AM, the Iowa County Communicatons Center received an automated alert from a cell phone provider reporting a severe crash. Deputies from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, along with Rewey Fire and First Reponse, and Montfort EMS were dispatched to the area of Lower Mifflin Road and Cook-McFall Road in Mifflin Township. Upon arrival, responders found a vehicle overturned in a creek with no one in or around it. Shortly after, a man returned to the scene and was identified as the driver. Following an investigation, the driver, Jason McPhail was arrested for operating while intoxicated first offense. He was later released to a responsible part.
