A bill was proposed to Wisconsin lawmakers on both sides of the aisle Wednesday that would implement child sexual abuse training for all grade levels in public schools. Erin’s Law would require students from K-12th grade in Wisconsin public schools to have at least one session ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour per year educating them about being safe and when to speak out. Head advocate, Erin Merryn, is spearheading the bill. She is a survivor of sexual assault and abuse. Erin’s Law is already mandated in 38 states. All the curriculum would be funded through the Erin’s Law Foundation.
