Local residents could see low-flying helicopters inspecting transmission lines starting this week. ITC Midwest announced that aerial patrols of “high-voltage transmission structures and lines throughout its service territory” will be conducted from today through approximately May 23. The areas to be surveyed include the cities of Dubuque, Asbury and Key West in Iowa and Lancaster in Wisconsin. Surveying also will occur more broadly in Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque and Jackson counties in Iowa and Grant County in Wisconsin, according to a press release.
