Morgan Wallen Defends Abrupt Exit From ‘Saturday Night Live,’ Saying “I Was Just Ready To Go Home”

During his May 11th appearance on the Sundae Conversations podcast with host Caleb Pressley, Morgan Wallen responded to the controversy surrounding his abrupt exit from Saturday Night Live during the cast goodbyes of the March 29th episode. Pressley asked him, “Seriously, SNL, did they make you mad?” The country superstar quickly responded, “No, no, I was just ready to go home. I been there all week.” Wallen added to the media attention surrounding the SNL incident when he immediately shared a picture of a private plane on social media along with the caption, “Get me to God’s country,” selling branded merchandise featuring the phrase only two days after appearing on the show. The controversy has prompted multiple jokes on subsequent SNL episodes.
