Over the past year, Hudson Westbrook rose to fame with hits like “Take It Slow” and “House Again.” In a new interview with People, the 20-year-old country music sensation reflects on his whirlwind success, while also sharing the helpful advice he received from Miranda Lambert. “She was like, ‘Just do your own thing and don’t worry about all the side stuff. Make your art and go do the things around your art that you need to do. And don’t ever change who you were before,'” Westbrook recalls, before adding, “She’s incredible.” Only 10 months removed from dropping out of Texas Tech University during his freshman year, Westbrook is readying his forthcoming debut album, while also preparing to hit the road in support of Parker McCollum this summer. “I make sure to be real,” Westbrook says. “There’s a type of music that I wanted to hear, and I’ve never been able to hear it. So, I just decided to make it.” (People)
