Authorities said two people were injured – one seriously – in a motorcycle crash in Jo Daviess County. 36-year-old William J. Lambie of Augusta, Wis., was transported by ambulance to Midwest Medical Center before being airlifted to University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. According to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, William Lambie’s passenger, 43-year-old Leatha M. Lambie also of Augusta, was transported by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. William Lambie was operating a motorcycle near the intersection of West Council Hill Road and North Birkbeck Road in rural Galena at approximately 2:55 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of the motorcycle on loose gravel. The motorcycle tipped on its side and slid across the roadway, ejecting both William and Leatha Lambie. Authorities are investigating the crash.
