On Saturday at 10:54 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 61 at County T, in Fennimore. 17-year-old Tucker Henkel, of Darlington was stopped on County T and then attempted to turn left onto Highway 61. Henkel turned in front of a Northbound vehicle on Highway 61, that was operated by 28-year-old Arlington Herrera Talavera, of Fennimore. Henkel and a passenger in Herrera Talaver’s vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. Both vehicles were heavily damaged in the collision and were removed from the scene. Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the Fennimore Police Department, Fennimore Fire and EMS, and Boscobel EMS. As a result of the investigation, Henkel was issued a citation for Failure to yield right of way from a Stop sign, and Herrera Talavera was issued a citation for Operating W/O a License and No Insurance.
