A child sexual assault investigation results in the arrest of a convicted sex offender in Green County. On May 4 the Green County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding incidents of Child Sexual Assault reported to have taken place in the Village of Albany and in rural Green County in the Town of Exeter. The Green County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with the Village of Albany Police Department, Rock County Human Services, and the Child Advocacy Center in Rock County to conduct a joint investigation. As a result of the investigation 36-year-old Derrick Nipple of rural Belleville was arrested in Darlington on Tuesday by the Lafayette County Sheriffs Department and then transported to the Green County Jail where he is being held without bond pending an initial appearance in Green County Circuit Court. Nipple is charged with 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child under 13, Exposing Genitals to a child, and Exposing a Child to Harmful Materials. Nipple has previous sex crime convictions in the State of Wisconsin and is a Lifetime Sex Offender Registrant. Additional sex crime charges are being referred to the Green County District Attorney’s Office for review. This investigation remains active and no additional information will be released at this time.
