On Wednesday, at 8:15pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash with 3 parties injured at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 35 in Patch Grove. Upon arrival it was determined 46-year-old Dennis Nagel of Prairie Du Chien was northbound on Highway 35 when he stopped at the intersection of Highway 35 and Highway 18. Nagel then pulled out from the stop sign to turn left onto Hwy 18. Nagel didn’t see the eastbound vehicle, and when he pulled into the intersection, it caused a collision with a 29-year-old from Fennimore who was traveling Eastbound on Highway 18. The 29-year-old, her minor passenger, and Dennis Nagel all received minor injuries from the crash and were transported to Crossing Rivers Health, in Prairie Du Chien. During the investigation, Nagel showed signs of impairment and was ultimately arrested for OWI 2nd offense causing injury. Nagel also received citations for Operating after Revocation, Open Intoxicants, and Failure to Yield right of way from stop sign. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and removed from the scene. Wisconsin State Patrol, West Grant EMS, Bloomington First Responders, and Bloomington Fire Department assisted at the scene.
