Following an announcement that an East Dubuque pool would be closed this summer due to financial concerns, community support and donations will allow the facility to open after all. Dunleith Park District plans to soon release information on the opening date for Dunleith Aquatic Center. Earlier this month, Dunleith Park District officials stated that the pool would not open this summer due to “ongoing financial constraints” and “resource limitations.” A town hall to discuss the future of the pool took place this week. After the event, Dunleith Park District officials shared online that the pool would reopen due to generous donations and community support. Officials noted that additional donations can be mailed to Dunleith Park, P.O. Box 255, East Dubuque, IL, 61025, or dropped off with the pool manager once the facility opens.
