The family of Kelsie Martin has set up a GoFundMe to help them honor her. Martin, who just graduated with a psychology degree from UW-Platteville, died Monday after suffering a gunshot wound at Wilgus Hall on the college campus. She was 22. The shooting involved Martin and Hallie Helms, also 22. Preliminary autopsy results show Martin died from gunshot wounds, while Helms died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police are still investigating what led up to their deaths. Martin, of Beloit, graduated two days before the shooting. In a little over two days, the GoFundMe has already surpassed the $12,000 goal and as of 11 AM on Friday was nearing $15,000. In a post to the GoFundMe on Friday, the family said, “Thank you to all who contributed to our goal. This has been an immense help to our family. The amount of love and support we have received will not go unnoticed.”
