Closure of a business in Prairie Du Chien will affect 74 employees, according to a notice filed with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development last week. Truvant North America, listed as a packaging and labeling service, will close their facility on July 15 due to “changing business circumstances”. Seventy-four people currently work there. Truvant says the facility closure means 44 positions will be eliminated outright. Thirty other employees have accepted offers to transfer to one of their other Wisconsin facilities, according to Truvant’s DWD filing. Affected employees are not members of a union. All will be paid earned wages and benefits through the dates of their terminations. Layoffs are expected to begin on or around the facility’s closure date of July 15.
