Within the last month, Southwest Health started construction on a multi-year construction project addressing growing healthcare needs in the region both within the existing hospital space and breaking ground on a new Medical Suite adjacent to the Platteville Clinic. The new construction is expanding Surgical Services from four current operating rooms to seven once construction is complete. In addition to expanding operating rooms, Southwest Health also broke ground in May on a new Medical Suite located on Eastside Road. Once completed multiple services will relocate to this facility. The new 35,000 square-foot facility will provide greater accessibility and convenience for the tri-state area. Once construction of the Medical Suite is complete, construction will start within the existing hospital and clinic building to allow for services and departments within Platteville Clinic to expand. Construction plans are in place to have minimal disruptions for patients and staff. This project marks the fifth construction initiative in just five years.
