Leaders from tri-state area look to the future

On Friday, the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their semi-annual Tri-State Mayors Breakfast with mayors or leading officials of six local cities. The event had a musical feel as Chamber President Chad Wolbers asked representatives to pick a song that represents their city. Platteville Council President Barb Daus chose a response to give the crowd a laugh. 

Daus then went on the say she’d choose “We Did it Our Way.” While Mayor Brad Cavanagh chose “You Ain’t Seen Nothing yet” as Dubuque’s song to emphasize that Dubuque has been improving and will continue to do so. Daus mentioned the new pool and new fire house that will open around the same time as each other as successes for the City of Platteville. Cavanagh mentioned housing, better air service, and a new pump station among other projects as Dubuque’s successes. One of the points all the representatives agreed upon was the necessity for residents to continue to express their governmental desires, but to do so with respect. 

Cavanagh emphasized if we focus forward and on solutions instead of just the problems then there will be more successes for everyone.
