One person was injured in a structure fire early Saturday afternoon at 3004 Buckwheat Ridge Road in rural Platteville. Deputy Fire Chief Casey Pickel with the Platteville Fire Department indicated the home was fully engulfed upon arrival just prior to 1 PM. One person had been trapped and assisted to safety by bystanders, Fire, and EMS personnel. That person was Med-Flighted from the scene to a Madison hospital and their condition is currently unknow. The structure is a complete loss and the fire remains under investigation. Firefighters were on the scene for 4.5 hours. The Platteville Fire Department was assisted 8 area volunteer fire departments.
