On Wednesday at 12:43 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a two-vehicle crash in the Township of Wingville, on Highway 80 near the intersection of Ebenezer Road. 69-year-old Rex Wepking of Highland, was driving south on Highway 80 when he slowed for two deer crossing the road in front of him. At that time, 65-year-old Cheryll King of Livingston, was also traveling southbound on Highway 80 when she came upon Wepking. King observed that Wepking had slowed for the deer but misjudged his speed and her truck collided with the rear end of Wepking’s vehicle. King was transported to Upland Hills Health Center by Montfort EMS for suspected injuries from the crash. King’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Wepking was uninjured and he was able to drive his vehicle from the scene.
